Gwangju Folly Promenade
The Gwangju Folly Promenade is created by connecting the existing Follies around the Asia Culture Center and Dong-gu with the new <Re:Folly> projects. Take a casual walk following the small signs of the streets that connect the Follies or participate in the small but thematic programs held at the Gwangju Follies.
Rather than operating as individual urban architectures, Gwangju Folly will exercise its influence through unified patterns. The new Follies, to be located within the city, are designed to achieve urban regeneration by providing a cultural rebirth to the old downtown area, which has been plagued by a phenomenon of ‘hollowing out’ afther 40 years of rapid industrial growth.
